A Journey of Growth & Community Impact

Founded in 1999 with a vision to empower individuals through compassionate care and workforce development, New Beginnings started as a single organization with just three dedicated employees serving one county. Rooted in the mission to improve lives through holistic health services and meaningful employment opportunities, the organization has experienced remarkable growth over the past two decades.

Today, Mediplex/New Beginnings thrives with a staff of over 250 professionals, including caregivers, occupational therapists, home health aides, nurses, and chaplains, delivering high-quality care across multiple regions. This expansion reflects not only our commitment to excellence but also our responsiveness to the evolving needs of the communities we serve.

Through our workforce development initiatives, we have trained, placed, and retained thousands of individuals in health-related careers, equipping them with the skills and support needed for long-term success. This has contributed significantly to economic mobility and job creation in underserved areas, while also improving health outcomes by increasing access to home-based and community-centered care.

Our growth has been fueled by strong partnerships with healthcare providers, educational institutions, and community organizations, enabling us to broaden our reach and amplify our impact. Together, we continue to build a healthier, more empowered future for the individuals and families we serve.

Impact of the Training Program – Beyond your organization

We want to make clear that this workforce model is not just about hiring for Mediplex/New Beginnings and that it’s about creating lasting impact on the broader St. Louis medical and caregiving landscape. To that end, please share any insights on:
  • The vision behind launching the training program
  • The projected or observed impact on the local healthcare workforce (I have data points for this to add so just add your thoughts.)

Demonstrated Return on Investment

The workforce training model is already yielding measurable returns—both in terms of financial sustainability and community impact:

“This program didn’t just help me get a job—it helped me build a career. I finally feel like I’m making a difference in my community.” – M. Peters
“The training these students receive is among the most hands-on and relevant we’ve seen. We’re excited to continue hiring from this pipeline.” – Partner Provider

The strength of our model has been recognized regionally. We have been awarded #1 Consumer-Based Services on two separate occasions, underscoring the quality and impact of our care. Formal partnerships with the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and other institutional stakeholders further validate our approach and support long-term program viability.
